About the Board (Government Registration)

Indian Board of Alternative Medicines is a Government registered institution Registered by the Government of West Bengal under Act XXVI based on the Central Government Act XXI of 1860.

Legality, Validity & Utility of the training courses, practice and research in the field of Alternative Systems of Medicines are in strict conformity with the Constitution of India as per Article 19(1)g and the Laws of the Land.

Successful and trained students of the Board can practice and profess the various systems of Alternative Medicines as per the Rules and Regulation of the Indian Board of Alternative Medicines.

Registration from Medical Council of India (MCI) is not required to practice the alternative systems of medicines as per their letter No. MCI-34(1) / 96-Med. / 10984 addressed to the Indian Board of Alternative Medicines.

Government of India Attestation - International Students and Students from India Migrating Abroad

Successful international students of IBAM can apply for attestation of their certificates with the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and the Foreign Ministry / Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India on completion of their courses for using them overseas.

Attestation is available for students who have completed the Diploma, Bachelor or Postgraduate / Doctorate programs. Students must notify to the Department of their applying for Government Attestation at the time of submission of final examinations or thesis for the courses.

International Board Certification Eligibility

Indian Board of Alternative Medicines is registered with the American Association of Drugless Practitioners Certification & Accreditation Board, U.S.A., a professional association that offers professional accreditation in complementary and alternative medicines internationally.

Successful students of IBAM qualify for Board Certification as Alternative Medical Practitioners by Certification and Accreditation Board of AADP and become eligible for all the benefits that the Association confers including referral for professional liability insurance, patient referrals, practice consultations, etc.
